MEASLES / Te mate karawaka - Protecting our tamariki

Measles is a serious and highly contagious illness, which can affect adults as well as children.
Immunisation is the best protection and will help to prevent the spread of measles in our local communities. The MMR vaccine is free and offered to tamariki at 12 months and 15 months. If your child missed their MMR vaccine it is free for them to catch up.
If you're not sure whether your child has had their measles immunisation, check with your Well Child/Tamariki Ora nurse or your GP practice.
MMR vaccines are available now for all whānau enrolled with our Whānau Health Centres. Waea mai – call us on 0508 835 676 to book your vaccination.
